Jimmy Carter. He is the humanitarian of the century. :))
LOL - Dame Edna - wouldn't mind Barry's money! There was another woman on SBS maybe about the same time as Mary .... I am having some serious alzheimic moments this afternoon - I think she was Indian. What about Maggie Tabberer - I think she was fairly influential. And even poor old Ita Buttrose had her day.
Quentin Bryce definitely. So charming and elegant yet down to earth and friendly,
I know the woman you mean and she is great but not with the same pizazz/ Maggie is on the outer for fronting some investment company that took everyone down for their life savings, and Ita is rent an Ita now she does ads for anyone and everything - no integrity. She is suppose to have been the love of Kerry Packer's life so no thank you!
Oh! See what happens when you leave a country!! The women went downhill in my absence! :-)
I know - if you can't trust Maggie T who can you trust? Country is going to ruin!
OOh! My brains back!! It was Indira Naidoo!! (runs to Google) In 1997 she was headhunted to present SBS News' inaugural LATE NEWS which she hosted for three years covering the independence struggle in East Timor, the coups in Fiji and the Balkans war in Kosovo.

I think I watched her every night for those three years. I left Australia in 2000. Sounds like she is the spokesperson for CHOICE now.

Great choices - esp Maxine and Mary! I once emailed SBS to congratulate them on Mary Kostakidis's grey hair. Any other channel and she would have had to dye it (or would have been sacked for not being young looking enough).
